We are honoured to welcome you to the third edition of the Africa HealthTech Summit (AHTS),  co-hosted by the Government of Rwanda, Africa CDC, and Smart Africa, the summit will focus on the theme ‘Innovating for Community Health: Unlocking the Power of AI.’ We will address critical questions on realizing the potential of innovations like artificial intelligence to tackle Africa’s most pressing health challenges.

In preparation for your participation in the upcoming AHTS Summit, taking place from October 29th to 31st, 2024, in Kigali, Rwanda, please review the following Information and Logistics Guide carefully. 

SUMMIT INFORMATION 

All Summit timings are in CAT – GMT +2:00. Below are important dates to plan for:

Gates will open at 8 AM, and the official AHTS program will begin at 11:00 AM. Delegates are advised to be seated before the program starts.

REGISTRATION 

Access AHTS is strictly by registration through our website (https://healthtechsummit.africa), and delegates will receive personalized confirmation emails upon successful registration. Please check your spam folder. If you have not received a confirmation letter but would like to attend the summit, please contact Jacqueline at jacqueline@dalagroup.africa.

THE SUMMIT EXPERIENCE 

The summit will bring together key stakeholders, including Ministers of Health and ICT, National Public Health Institutes, regulators, leading tech innovators, healthcare professionals, development partners, investors, and academia. Together, we will explore how emerging technologies can be leveraged to strengthen health systems and improve individual well-being across African communities.

Sessions will focus on strategies and solutions to enhance health infrastructure, bolster disease prevention and surveillance, improve supply chain efficiency, expand access to diagnostics and care, build health worker capacity, and drive progress toward universal health coverage. These efforts aim to reinforce Africa’s health security and advance universal health coverage objectives.

ACCREDITATION & BADGE COLLECTION

Accreditation and badge collection will be open at the Kigali Convention Centre starting on 27th October. Please note that access to the summit is limited to fully registered participants, speakers, partners, and event organizers. A valid accreditation badge is required for entry.

VIP badges will be issued only to invited guests. 

Accreditation badges must be displayed at all times, are non-transferable, and must not be lent to another participant under any circumstances due to security reasons. Participants are also required to allow the scanning team at the entrance of each room to scan their badge every time they enter a session.

TRAVEL / FLIGHTS 

Participants are encouraged to book their flights early. You are responsible for booking your round-trip ticket to the Summit. We recommend you review your flight itinerary to familiarise yourself with your departure and return flight times. We strongly encourage you to check in online at least 24 hours before your flight(s) if the airline permits this. 

VISA SUPPORT 

Please refer to the host country Rwanda’s visa support requirements and policies here 

TRANSPORT 

You are responsible for arranging and covering the costs of your airport transfers and transportation in both your country of departure and upon return to your country of origin, as well as your movement to and from the venue during the summit. 

ACCOMMODATION 

We recommend that you arrive in Kigali, Rwanda, at least (1)  day before the summit on 28th October 2024 and book accommodation close to the venue. Delegates are responsible for booking their accommodation; however, we have a destination management team available to assist with availability and bookings.
