Dear First Name ,
Health systems across Africa and globally are entering a decisive moment.
Non-communicable diseases now account for over 37% of deaths in Africa, and are projected to surpass communicable diseases by 2030. At the same time, health systems are under pressure from rising costs, workforce shortages, and delivery models that were not designed for chronic, long-term care. Incremental change is no longer sufficient.
It is within this context that the Africa HealthTech Summit (AHTS) @5 convenes in Kigali from 30 September – 2 October 2026, under the theme:
From Illness to Wellness: Building Intelligent and People-Centered Health Systems
AHTS @5 marks a deliberate shift in focus from treatment-centric conversations to prevention-first, digitally enabled, and people-centered health systems designed to operate at scale. The Summit will examine how wellness can be embedded across the full health system lifecycle: from early detection and self-management, to connected primary care, digital public infrastructure, equitable access, and sustainable financing.
The 2026 edition reflects the maturity of the platform. Five years in, AHTS has evolved from a convening on innovation to a space where system-level choices are shaped bringing together policymakers, regulators, development partners, investors, innovators, and corporate leaders to align on pathways from pilots to population-level impact.
To support this ambition, AHTS extends its global engagement through AHTS x Canada, a flagship international edition designed to align global capital, policy dialogue, and innovation ecosystems with Africa’s prevention-first health priorities strengthening partnerships and commitments that culminate at the Kigali Summit.
For organizations shaping health policy, financing, technology, and delivery models, AHTS @5 offers an opportunity to engage early, influence direction, and position leadership at the point where prevention-first health systems are being designed, not retrofitted.
Partners at AHTS engage not only with visibility, but with relevance participating in conversations that shape policy alignment, financing pathways, procurement readiness, and long-term system design.
