The WHO SMART Guidelines facilitate the effective adaptation of health recommendations into digital systems, promoting timely and accurate health interventions. Through Digital Adaptation Kits (DAKs), these guidelines provide operational guidance, enhancing workflows for Community Health Workers (CHWs) and ensuring they deliver consistent, high-quality care with the right digital tools.

Africa’s health tech sector presents vast opportunities, yet navigating it requires a diverse skill set—from identifying high-potential opportunities to forging partnerships, securing funding, and protecting intellectual property. For health tech entrepreneurs, this skill set extends well beyond traditional business knowledge, involving expertise in areas such as regulatory compliance, data management, and culturally adaptive design.

Amplifying Youth Voices in Africa’s Digital Health Transformation: Launch of The Africa CDC Youth in Digital Health Network (AYiDHN)

This session will officially launch the Youth in Digital Health Network (YiDHN) in Africa, a network established to amplify youth voices, promote youth leadership in digital health, and build bridges between young leaders and established organizations. The session will feature a panel discussion exploring barriers and opportunities for African youth in digital health, providing recommendations for youths’ inclusion in Africa’s digital health transformation, and examining the role of various stakeholders in implementing these recommendations. An official presentation and launch of the YiDHN will follow the panel discussions.
